Hammer on’s and Pull offs are very basic but useful left hand techniques for the guitar. They will enable you to play faster and if used effectively; play more notes.
Hammer on’s: after hitting a note with your picking hand, you will press down a different finger with your fretting hand on a different note using some force. on tablature, hammer on’s are marked with the letter ‘h’.
Pull offs: The opposite to hammer on’s; a pull of is simply pulling off your finger from your fretted hand to produce a lower note.
